Common Questions

Do I need any special hardware?

  • Raspberry Pi 3B+ or newer
  • Quality SD card (32GB+, Class 10)
  • Official power supply (5V/3A for Pi 4)
  • Ethernet cable

How long may installation take?

  • Image download: 5-10 minutes
  • Flashing SD card: 10-15 minutes
  • First boot: 2-3 minutes
  • Total: ~30 minutes

Can I keep my existing router?

Yes! Pimeleon works alongside your existing router. You can:

  • Use it as a secondary router/gateway
  • Use it as a network filter with your main router upstream
  • Replace your existing router completely
